You will be working under direct guidance to support electrical maintenance and troubleshooting activities in a manufacturing environment. Your role will include completing required classroom learning, acquiring hands-on experience, and supporting safe and efficient equipment operation. Internally, your focus will also be on driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity, and equipment reliability. In terms of Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE), you will need to comply with all Cummins HSE policies, procedures, and regulations. It is important to use appropriate personal protective equipment and follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. Reporting hazards, incidents, and injuries immediately, participating in risk assessments, and supporting safe work practices to achieve zero safety incidents are crucial aspects of the role. Additionally, ensuring that environmental impact is minimized through responsible work behavior is a key responsibility. Maintenance & Troubleshooting tasks will involve assisting with preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of shop floor machines (Electrical, Pneumatic, Hydraulic systems). You will be required to diagnose faults and support time-critical repairs to minimize downtime. Participation in root cause analysis and corrective actions, ensuring preventive maintenance is compliant with the schedule, and maintaining high uptime through proactive maintenance activities are essential. You will also be involved in Electrical Systems Support where you will perform supervised electrical work based on diagrams, sketches, manuals, and specifications. Understanding PLC, relay logic, ladder diagrams, and electrical/pneumatic schematics, supporting hardware controls maintenance, and participating in automation or programming improvements will be part of your responsibilities. Assisting in factory automation projects, including programming and control system upgrades, will also be a part of your role. Documentation & Reporting tasks will include maintaining maintenance records, shift reports, and equipment documentation. Participation in spare parts planning and inventory control, ensuring adherence to 5S and housekeeping standards across the work area will also be required. For Learning & Development, you will need to complete all assigned classes, achieve required on-the-job training hours, engage in personal development activities aligned with business needs, and actively participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and continuous improvement initiatives. As an Electrician Level I, you are expected to collaborate effectively, communicate clearly and concisely, support uptime and reliability to meet internal customer needs, apply learning from training and experience to real-world tasks, seek out learning opportunities and apply feedback, and embrace diversity in teams and perspectives. In terms of Technical Competencies, you are required to champion a safety-first mindset, understand hazards associated with electrical and control systems and apply safety protocols, assist in identifying and resolving electrical issues, support automation efforts and programming improvements under guidance, participate in implementing machine program changes for improved performance, and apply basic understanding of manufacturing systems to daily tasks. Education required for this role includes a high school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education. Technical education in electrical or mechanical fields is preferred. Licensing or certifications for compliance with export controls or electrical standards may also be required depending on the region. No prior work experience is required for this entry-level apprenticeship position, however, internships or practical training in manufacturing or electrical maintenance are advantageous. Skills necessary for this role include a basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, familiarity with PLCs, relay logic, and ladder diagrams, ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic drawings, proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), strong safety awareness, proactive mindset, attention to detail, ability to multitask, communicate effectively, and work in cross-functional teams. Working conditions will involve a manufacturing environment with exposure to electrical systems, machinery, and moderate noise. Use of PPE is mandatory, and strict adherence to safety procedures is expected. The role may involve shift work, extended hours, and physical activity such as lifting, climbing, and standing.,
