Lab Technician

As an Assistant II - Lab Support at UST, you will play a crucial role in assembling, configuring, and maintaining hardware platforms such as servers, workstations, and embedded devices. Your responsibilities include ensuring proper hardware and software configurations, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project and testing requirements. This position requires hands-on technical work, attention to detail, and effective communication skills. Your duties will involve assembling and configuring hardware platforms by installing components, flashing BIOS, and updating firmware. You will also be responsible for installing and configuring operating systems, drivers, and necessary software for validation or production environments. Troubleshooting hardware and software issues, documenting resolutions, coordinating with engineers and stakeholders, and maintaining inventory of hardware components are key aspects of this role. To be successful in this role, you should have at least 2 years of experience in hardware assembly, system bring-up, or a similar technical support role. Proficiency in installing and configuring operating systems, drivers, and firmware is essential. You should also be familiar with BIOS/UEFI flashing, firmware updates, and hardware validation tools. Strong troubleshooting skills, effective communication, collaboration abilities, attention to detail, and a customer-focused mindset are important qualities for this position.
