Job Description

Position Overview:

The L6 Supervisor will be responsible for leading and managing the operations of the (Coding_WWS), (Clinical Documentation_WWS), and Medical Record Technician (MRT_WWS) teams. This role involves overseeing end-to-end processes, ensuring quality and compliance, and driving team performance to meet organizational goals. The Supervisor will serve as a key link between the management and operations team, focusing on operational excellence, process optimization, and staff development.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Oversight:
  • Manage daily operations across medical coding, clinical documentation, and medical records processing teams.
  • Ensure adherence to established SLAs, KPIs, and compliance standards.
  • Allocate resources effectively to balance workload across functions.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional departments to resolve operational issues promptly.
Quality & Compliance:
  • Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and other applicable coding guidelines.
  • Monitor clinical documentation for completeness, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee proper management and confidentiality of medical records in compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
  • Conduct quality audits and implement corrective action plans where needed.
Process Improvement:
  • Identify operational gaps and recommend improvements to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Standardize processes across the three functional teams for efficiency.
  • Implement automation or technology enhancements where feasible.
Reporting & Analytics:
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational and quality reports for management review.
  • Track performance metrics and trends to develop action plans for improvement.
Team Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate team members to achieve operational and professional growth.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and facilitate skill-building training sessions.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages knowledge sharing and innovation.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Life Sciences or a related field (preferred).
  • 4–6 years of relevant experience in medical coding, clinical documentation, or medical records management, with at least 2 years in a team handling role.
  • Certification in medical coding (CPC, CCS, CCA, etc.) is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare compliance regulations (HIPAA, CMS, etc.).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and healthcare management software.
