Backend Developer Intern (Remote | India) About the Role Klantroef is hiring a Backend Developer to help design and build the core services that power our products. You’ll own everything from data‑model design to high‑throughput APIs, working in a small team that values clean code, measurable performance, and rapid iteration. Key Responsibilities · Architect & code scalable backend systems, APIs, and micro‑services. · Collaborate with front‑end, DevOps, and product teams to ship end‑to‑end features. · Write reusable, testable, efficient code with a clear separation of concerns. · Optimise applications for low latency, high throughput, and cost efficiency. · Manage data stores (SQL & NoSQL), including schema design, migration, and tuning. · Implement security best practices (auth, encryption, OWASP‑10 hardening). · Review code & troubleshoot production issues, contributing to a blameless culture. · Continuously improve CI/CD workflows, observability, and overall system design. Required Qualifications · 0-3 years of professional backend experience. · Proficiency in Node.js, Python, Java, Go, or Ruby (pick at least one). · Production experience with RESTful APIs (bonus: GraphQL, WebSockets). · Solid grasp of SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and/or NoSQL (MongoDB/Redis). · Comfortable with Git , Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and a major cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure). · Strong foundations in data structures, algorithms, and software engineering best practices . · Clear written & verbal communication; ability to defend technical decisions. Preferred Skills · Micro‑services & event‑driven architecture . · Message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS). · Automated testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, PyTest, JUnit, etc.). · Exposure to serverless patterns and API gateways. · Infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi).
