As a Direct Tax Consultant at our leading Audit and Tax Advisory firm, you will be responsible for handling routine and non-routine advisories on various corporate direct tax issues. This includes managing corporate tax assessments, audits, appeals, and penalty proceedings by preparing replies, compiling details, and representing the firm before tax authorities. Your role will also involve managing client relationships to understand their requirements, address queries, and resolve concerns effectively. Additionally, you will assist in creating presentations for prospective client meetings and oversee the income-tax assessment proceedings before the Tax officer. Collaboration with clients, statutory and tax auditors, as well as counsels on various direct tax matters will be a key aspect of your responsibilities. To excel in this role, you should be a CA with 0-5 years of experience in Direct Tax, preferably with exposure to Direct Tax Audits during articleship. The ability to navigate audit and taxation processes effectively is essential, along with a proactive approach to problem-solving and client engagement. Key Responsibilities Authenticate and appraise gold: Examine gold ornaments for purity, weight, and value using standard testing procedures. Facilitate gold loan processing: Value ornaments to process loans quickly, ensure error-free calculations, and update all relevant documentation. Customer service: Greet and counsel customers, handle loan enquiries, and manage their expectations through the loan lifecycle. KYC and compliance: Ensure all customer documents (ID, address) are collected correctly as per company and RBI guidelines, and maintain compliance for all transactions. Record keeping: Maintain accurate registers/logs for gold securities, cash, and loan disbursements in the branch. Security and risk: Ensure strong room protocols and manage the vault securely for customer gold. Cross-selling: Upsell insurance and other financial products to gold loan customers. Skills & Qualities Integrity and high ethical standards Detail-oriented with gold testing and handling experience Strong communication skills, preferably in the local language Basic computer knowledge
