Duties and Responsibilities : Inspection During Forging: Monitoring the forging process, including temperature, pressure, alignments and other relevant parameters. Visual Inspection: Examining the forged parts for forging defects like Under fill, Cracks, Fold, Cold shuts, forging dents, Stamping washout, trimming/Piercing Defects and other imperfections. Dimensional Inspection: Measuring and verifying the dimensions of the forged parts against specifications. Process Monitoring: Observing the forging process to identify any deviations or potential issues, such as improper heating, tooling problems, or excessive deformation. Collaboration: Working with other departments, such as production and engineering, to address quality issues and improve the forging process. Root Cause Analysis: When defects are found, they assist in identifying the root cause of the problem and develop corrective actions to prevent similar issues in the future. Corrective Action: Collaborating with production personnel to implement corrective actions to address identified issues and prevent future defects. Document Verification: Checking raw material test reports, testing laboratory credentials, Raw material cutting approval and in-house factory test reports. Quality Control: Identifying and addressing any non-conforming parts. Safety Compliance: Ensuring that safe working conditions are maintained during inspections and production activities. Record Keeping: Maintaining detailed records of inspections and any corrective actions taken. Non-Destructive Testing (NDT): Utilizing methods like ultrasonic testing, radiography, and magnetic particle inspection to detect internal flaws or defects. Compliance with Standards: Ensuring that forged parts meet industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Root Cause Analysis: When defects are found, they assist in identifying the root cause of the problem and develop corrective actions to prevent similar issues in the future. Equipment Maintenance: Hot inspectors are responsible for maintaining inspection equipment, ensuring it is calibrated and in good working condition. Quality Assurance: Contributing to the overall quality control process by identifying and addressing quality-related issues. Process Improvement: Identifying areas for improvement in the forging process and contributing to quality control initiatives. Training and Support: Providing training and support to other team members involved in the forging process. Preferred Skills : Forging Process Knowledge: A thorough understanding of the forging process, including heating, deformation, and cooling cycles, is essential. Engineering Drawing Interpretation: The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings to understand part specifications, tolerances, and surface finish requirements is crucial. Quality Control Tools and Techniques: Proficiency in using various quality control tools like Vernier Caliper, micrometers, Height Gauge, Bevel Protector, Dail Gauges and other inspection equipment is necessary. Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: The ability to identify and address potential issues or defects during the forging process is valuable. Qualifications: Must be Diploma / Degree in Engineering with 04-06 Yrs. relevant experience in manufacturing Industry
