JOB TITLE: Kafka Developer

• Remote – Global
• Australian Hours
• 8 month Contract – with possible extension into fulltime
• MOST CRITICAL IS HANDS ON AWS EXPERIENCE.
• 30% DEV OPS AWS AND 70% KAFKA

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS WORKED IN KAFKA DEVELOPMENT TO PROVIDE THE REAL TIME

DATA.

E.G., A RACE STARTS IN 10 MINS, NEED ALL BETS AND FEEDS INTO SYSTEM AND NEEDS TO BE

REAL TIME, AND THEY USE KAFKA TO GET INTO IT.

KAFKA IS HOSTED IN AWS- SO SHOULD BE ABLE TO MIGRATE THROUGH AWS CONTAINERS AND

CONTROL UNITS SO THAT THEY UNDERSTAND HOW THE SERVICE CAN BE DEPLOYED IN AWS

ENVIRONMENT.

• SOLID EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH KAFKA (BROKERS, ZOOKEEPER, CONNECT, SCHEMA

REGISTRY, KAFKAREST, KAFKA STREAMS) AND AN UNDERSTANDING OF KAFKA

ARCHITECTURE AND INTERNALS.

• EXPERIENCE IN AWS OR OTHER CLOUD ENVIRONMENTS.
• HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE WITH DOCKER AND DEPLOYMENTS ON ECS

• KAFKA ON KUBERNETES EXPERIENCE IS A STRONG BONUS
• ABILITY TO TROUBLESHOOT AND RESOLVE PERFORMANCE, AVAILABILITY, AND

INTEGRATION ISSUES.

• EXPOSURE TO DATABRICKS, DATABASES, OR OTHER DATA/STREAMING TECHNOLOGIES

(OR WILLINGNESS TO LEARN).

• EXPERIENCE WITH AUTOMATION, MONITORING, AND PERFORMANCE TUNING.
• EXPERIENCE WITH DOCKER AND VARIOUS
• A STRONG LEARNING MINDSET AND ADAPTABILITY TO EXPAND BEYOND KAFKA INTO

OTHER PLATFORMS.
