Job Description

The Junior Technical Support ICT role based in Coimbatore, India involves providing first-level technical assistance and support for computer systems, hardware, software, and network-related issues. In this role, you will be responsible for responding to support tickets, troubleshooting basic ICT problems, and assisting with system maintenance and upgrades to ensure smooth and secure IT operations. Your key responsibilities will include responding to technical support requests from staff and students through various channels such as phone, email, or ticketing system. You will be expected to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to desktops, laptops, printers, projectors, and basic networking. Additionally, you will assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of software and hardware. Providing support for internet connectivity, LAN/Wi-Fi issues, and email access problems will also be part of your duties. Furthermore, you will be responsible for maintaining inventory records for ICT equipment, coordinating with vendors for repairs or replacements, and setting up ICT infrastructure for classrooms, labs, and events. Ensuring that systems are regularly updated with security patches and antivirus protection is crucial. You will need to escalate unresolved issues to senior technical staff or IT administrators when necessary and assist in creating basic user guides or documentation for frequently asked technical questions. Maintaining logs of daily support activities and reporting recurring issues to the IT Manager will also be required. To qualify for this position, you should have a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field along with at least 2 years of experience in a similar IT support or helpdesk role. Basic knowledge of Windows/Linux OS, MS Office, networking, and troubleshooting tools is essential. Key skills that will be beneficial for this role include good problem-solving and analytical skills, strong communication and interpersonal abilities, customer service orientation, the ability to multitask and handle routine IT support requests efficiently, and a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.,
