About the job: Key responsibilities: 1. Design, implement, and test RESTful APIs and Spring Boot microservices that power portfolio aggregation, transaction management, and reporting modules. 2. Work with relational databases (MS SQL or PostgreSQL) to design schemas, write efficient SQL queries, and optimize performance for large datasets (portfolio holdings, transaction histories, user hierarchies). 3. Integrate with external APIs (e.g., mutual-fund NAV providers, document-storage services, Azure AD SSO for enterprise clients). 4. Maintain up-to-date API documentation (Swagger/OpenAPI), architectural diagrams, and runbooks for support/maintenance teams. Proficiency in Java 8+ (collections, streams, concurrency). 2. Java development experience, predominantly using Spring Boot (Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security). 3. Understanding of building RESTful web services with Spring Boot, including exception handling, validation (Hibernate Validator), and versioning. 4. Hands-on experience with relational databases—designing normalized schemas, writing complex SQL, and optimizing queries. 5. Experience implementing basic security controls (JWT, OAuth2, or SAML) within a Spring ecosystem. 6. Solid understanding of Git workflows (feature branches, pull requests, rebasing). 7. Exposure to containerization (Docker), knowledge of Dockerfile best practices, and familiarity with container orchestration concepts.
