Junior Database Administrator

As a skilled Database Administrator with 23 years of hands-on experience, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing relational database systems, focusing on MariaDB and ClickHouse. Your primary tasks will include ensuring high availability, performance, and security of mission-critical databases, as well as supporting automation, deployment, and troubleshooting efforts. Your responsibilities will include installing, configuring, and maintaining ClickHouse in both development and production environments. You will also support and manage at least one other RDBMS such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server. Designing and implementing High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions for ClickHouse, optimizing query performance, automating database administration tasks, setting up monitoring, and implementing backup and recovery processes will be crucial aspects of your role. Collaborating with engineering teams to build scalable data solutions, troubleshooting performance issues, documenting system configurations, and ensuring compliance with security and data governance policies are also part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will participate in disaster recovery testing and planning. To excel in this role, you should have 13 years of experience managing ClickHouse and other RDBMS, proficiency in SQL scripting and performance tuning, experience with replication, sharding, or clustering, familiarity with monitoring tools, proficiency in scripting for automation, exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools, understanding of database security, networking, and compliance standards, and strong analytical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills.
