Junior Data engineer ( Python and SQL ) - 1 to 2 years only , Chennai, India

Data Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable and efficient

  data pipelines

  for batch and real-time processing.
• Write complex

  SQL queries

  for data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
• Use

  Python

  (with

  Polars

  or

  Pandas

  ) to clean, transform, and analyze large datasets.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other engineers to understand data needs and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Integrate pipelines into

  CI/CD environments

  and ensure robust version control and testing.
• Work in an

  Agile environment

  , participating in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
• Optimize data processes for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Contribute to data architecture and governance practices.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years

  of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
• Strong proficiency in

  SQL

  and

  Python

  .
• Hands-on experience with

  Polars

  or

  Pandas

  for data wrangling and analysis.
• Solid understanding of

  data pipeline design

  and

  ETL processes

  .
• Familiarity with

  CI/CD tools

  (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).
• Experience working in an

  Agile/Scrum

  environment.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred (Good to Have):

• Working knowledge of

  Scala

  or

  Java

  in a data engineering context.
• Experience with

  cloud platforms

  like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge of

  data lake

  ,

  data warehouse

  streaming

  architectures (e.g., Kafka, Spark).
• Exposure to

  Docker

  or other containerization tools.
