Junior Civil Quality Engineer

• Roles and Responsibilities

1. Quality Assurance Planning

• Prepare and implement the Project Quality Plan as per contract specifications and client requirements.
• Develop Inspection and Test Plans , Method Statements, and Work Procedures for all construction activities.
• Ensure QA documents are approved by the consultant/client before work starts.

2. Material Approval & Verification

• Verify material compliance with technical specifications and IS codes.
• Coordinate with vendors for material submit, samples, and third-party test reports.
• Ensure all materials are approved by the client/consultant before use at site.

3. Process and Work Quality Control

• Ensure all construction activities (shuttering, reinforcement, concreting, masonry, finishing, etc.) are carried out as per approved procedures.
• Conduct pre-, during-, and post-activity inspections along with QA/QC inspectors.
• Supervise concrete mix design trials, cube testing, and calibration of batching plants.

4. Documentation and Record Keeping

• Maintain complete QA documentation including:
• ITPs and checklists
• Material test reports (MTCs)
• Site inspection reports
• NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports)
• Calibration certificates
• Ensure proper filing and traceability of QA documents for audits and client review.

5. Internal Audits and Quality Reviews

• Conduct internal quality audits to verify compliance with company and project QA systems.
• Prepare Audit Reports and monitor Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
• Support external/client audits and respond to findings.

6. Coordination and Communication

• Coordinate between project team, consultant, and client QA/QC departments.
• Review and close site observations, NCRs, and client punch lists.
• Attend quality coordination meetings and present status updates.

7. Training and Awareness

• Conduct toolbox talks and awareness sessions for engineers and supervisors on quality standards and inspection procedures.
• Promote adherence to ISO 9001:2015 or company QA system.

8. Final Quality Handover

• Compile all QA documentation for handover dossier to client (as-built drawings, test reports, approvals, inspection records).
• Verify completion of snag and punch list items prior to final handover.
