As a Laboratory Technician, your role involves adhering to the policy on proper dress code and Universal Precautions (PPE) at all times. You will be responsible for maintaining the department in a neat, clean, and well-stocked condition for efficient sample processing. Your duties also include preparing hypochlorite solutions daily as per lab safety policy and ensuring the safe disposal of biomedical waste. It is crucial for you to record and maintain a daily monitoring checklist, submit it for verification, and coordinate workflow to ensure timely reporting of results. Additionally, you will mentor less experienced lab staff and assist in checking QC outliers and performing necessary corrections. Key Responsibilities: - Adhere to proper dress code and Universal Precautions (PPE) always - Keep the department neat, clean, and well stocked with supplies for sample processing - Prepare hypochlorite solution daily as per lab safety policy - Segregate and safely dispose of biomedical waste - Record and maintain daily monitoring checklist and submit for verification - Coordinate workflow to ensure timely reporting of results - Mentor less experienced lab staff - Check QC outliers and perform necessary corrections - Update QC values in URT - Follow up on critical/repeat register - Check pending samples in LIS and take responsibility to release reports - Clean workbench and provide maintenance for all equipment - Update all basic documentation in the department - Receive and segregate samples for processing - Monitor and maintain instrument reagent status - Process split samples for proficiency testing - Assist in documentation and maintenance of QMS documents - Send ILQC for verification - Report any non-conformance related to technical activities - Raise material indent to stores with approval - Receive, inspect, and store kits, consumables, reagents, and consumables - Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times - Participate in training and continual improvement programmes - Act as auditee during internal lab audit - Maintain work ethics and promote team building in the department Qualifications Required: - Experience in Biochemistry: 3 years - Location: Calicut, Kerala - Work Location: In person Please note this is a full-time, permanent position with day, morning, night, and rotational shifts.
