Junior Accountant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Accountant to support our finance team in managing accounting operations related to international markets, specifically the Middle East, USA, and Africa. The candidate will assist in maintaining financial records, ensuring compliance with international accounting standards, and facilitating smooth financial operations for our global business units.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain day-to-day accounting records for transactions related to international markets (Middle East, USA, Africa).
• Assist in preparing and reconciling accounts receivable and payable ledgers.
• Process invoices, expense claims, and vendor payments in accordance with company policies and international regulations.
• Monitor and track foreign currency transactions and coordinate with banks for currency conversions and international payments.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities including journal entries and ledger reconciliations.
• Liaise with internal teams and external auditors for statutory and internal audits related to international operations.
• Maintain proper documentation for cross-border transactions and tax compliances such as VAT/GST or withholding tax, where applicable.
• Support compliance with international financial regulations, export-import documentation, and tax treaties applicable to business in Middle East, USA, and Africa.
• Assist in currency risk management and foreign exchange reconciliations.
• Collaborate with the finance teams across different geographies for smooth accounting processes.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelors degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1.6 + Year of experience in accounting, preferably with exposure to international markets or export-import accounting.
• Basic knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS) and local GAAP.
• Understanding of foreign currency transactions and exchange rate impacts.
• Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, SAP, Oracle, or similar) and MS Excel.
• Familiarity with tax regulations related to international trade is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills in English; additional languages related to target regions are a plus.
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to dynamic international business environments.
