Job Description: Maintain raw material rates on an item-wise and grade-wise basis. Conduct techno-commercial reviews of inquiries and maintain comprehensive review documents. Float inquiries to approved vendors based on the Bill of Materials (BOM) and specifications. Coordinate with the purchasing department to obtain weekly updates on raw material rates from vendors for standard parts. Ensure accuracy in costing, taking into account raw material costs, rolling, bending, machining, development, wastage, TPI inspections, follow-up visits, subcontracting charges, inventory carrying costs, holding charges, testing and certifications, process costs, labour costs, and overheads. Review and cross-check BOMs received from engineering for quantity, area, and weight calculations. Prepare BOMs for finalized drawings and submit offers to the marketing department. Collaborate with the marketing department for order negotiations Technical Competencies: Proficient in analysing and maintaining raw material rates, including item-wise and grade-wise categorization. Strong understanding of techno-commercial principles to effectively review inquiries and maintain documentation. Experience in floating inquiries and evaluating responses from approved vendors, with knowledge of BOM specifications. Ability to ensure accurate costing that incorporates various factors such as rolling, bending, machining, wastage, and subcontracting charges. Knowledge of inventory carrying costs, holding charges, and efficient inventory practices.
