The work can be extremely varied and depends on whom you work for. You may be involved in civil, rail, road and other infrastructure projects for example. Your time will be divided between the office and the site and there is a chance you will have to work during inclement weather spells. What Is The Career Path of a Site Engineer? Although it is possible to begin your career as soon as you complete the Leaving Cert, the vast majority of prospective site engineers will go to University. Most companies look for candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering although any technical or numerical-based degree will greatly aid your cause. If you studied subjects such as construction, structural or civil engineering, you will enhance your prospects.
