Job Opening || Lead Technical Specialist - R&D (Hardware)

Role & responsibilities

The is a Lead Technical Specialist qualified employee, who owns and designs electronic Products. He/She is a senior engineer with multiple years of experience in ADAS, DMS, Infotainment, Lighting automotive electronics design, component selection and mass market manufacturability. He/She is acting as a technical authority, provides design references and acts as a mentor and guide to the wider electronics team. He/She is part of the overall product development team.

• Creation of circuit concepts and electronics architectures for automotive Electronics for mass production. This includes Mechanical, Thermal and EMC design.
• Detailed circuit design as well as documentation and verification of the circuits through simulation, worst-case analysis and functional tests on prototypes or serial parts
• Design and specification of HW/SW interaction, especially controls and diagnostics concepts for embedded electronics including verification of effectiveness to reach certain diagnostics capabilities.
• Definition of Verification and Validation concepts for electronic products and support in product validation in the context of EMC and environmental testing
• Analysis and handling of stakeholder requirements including manufacturing and verification & validation. This includes assessment of risk and cost impact during RFQ, product design and manufacturing phase.
• Technical Authority for electronics design impacting the mechanical structure and connector technologies.
• Discipline the owner of that project.
• Coordinate between Project Manager and Team
• Define, Plan, track, and execute the project for that discipline activities.
• Drive and coordinate Design to Cost, VAVE, Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) initiatives.
• Support manufacturing process assessments and manufacturing technology reviews.
• Leading and mentoring technical reviews and issue analysis as well as lessons learned, and general process work related to electronics engineering processes.
• Supporting communications and meetings with internal and external customers.
• Contribute to companys maturity growth by sharing lessons learned and general awareness of VLS complexity and specifics among team members and other Functions.

Preferred candidate profile

• Proven long year experience as an electronics developer in the field of automotive electronics or mass production electronics, ideally for Automotive Camera Systems, infotainment or similar high-speed embedded design
• Excellent understanding of mass production manufacturing dependencies.
• Excellent understanding of component selection and design-in of complex devices (ASICs,
• Microcontroller/SoC, Memory, Power Drivers, Analog measurement and controls circuits) in automotive environment.
• Excellent understanding of mechanical, thermal and EMC driven designs in harsh environments
• Experience in D2C, VAVE, DFM and DFT
• Experience with the product development process and standards of the automotive industry (APQP, ISO26262 pt. 5, AECQ, PPAP,)
• Experience in Verification and Validation of modern high-speed circuits and interconnection. Example: Clock & signals lines and busses (Memory components and Microcontroller)
• Very good work organization and self-reliant work in an international Team • Significant cost and price awareness
