1. Merchandise Planning & Strategy • Develop seasonal and annual merchandise strategy in line with business objectives. • Align product mix with market trends, customer preferences, and brand positioning. • Ensure optimal assortment planning across categories, price points, and geographies. 2. Sales & Margin Performance • Achieve sales, gross margin, and contribution targets for Fashion & Lifestyle categories. • Drive category growth through focused merchandise selection and pricing strategies. • Optimize product lifecycle management to maximize sell-through and minimize markdowns. 3. Inventory Management • Maintain healthy stock turns and control aged inventory. • Monitor OTIF (On Time In Full) supplies from vendors. • Implement replenishment systems to ensure product availability at the right time and right place. 4. Vendor & Brand Management • Build and nurture strong relationships with key vendors, brands, and design houses. • Negotiate commercial terms, margins, credit periods, and exclusive collections. • Ensure compliance with quality and ethical sourcing standards. 5. Market & Trend Analysis • Conduct regular market scans, competitor benchmarking, and trend forecasting. • Leverage customer insights, loyalty data, and fashion forecasting reports to drive decisions. • Introduce new categories, sub-brands, and fashion lines to capture emerging trends. 6. Pricing & Promotions • Define pricing strategies balancing competitiveness, brand positioning, and profitability. • Plan seasonal promotions, end-of-season sales, and tactical offers. • Track ROI of promotions and adapt strategies accordingly. 7. Team Development & Leadership • Lead the merchandise planning, buying, and visual merchandising teams. • Mentor and groom future leaders in merchandising. • Ensure cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, Operations, and Supply Chain. 8. Process & Systems • Implement best practices in merchandising processes (assortment planning, open-to-buy, allocation). • Leverage technology and analytics for demand forecasting and merchandise performance tracking. • Drive automation and efficiency in buying and allocation. 9. Customer-Centricity • Ensure merchandise reflects customer preferences across regions and store formats. • Work with Visual Merchandising to create compelling in-store experiences. • Continuously review customer feedback and adapt assortment accordingly. 10. Financial Discipline • Manage OTB (Open to Buy) within approved budgets. • Monitor working capital tied in inventory. • Deliver category profitability in line with overall business plan.
