Java production support

Java Production Support Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide

  L2/L3 support

  for Java-based production applications.
• Investigate, analyze, and resolve technical issues in a

  timely

  and

  efficient

  manner.
• Monitor application performance and ensure system stability using monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics).
• Perform

  root cause analysis (RCA)

  and coordinate with development teams for permanent fixes.
• Create and maintain

  incident tickets

  , logs, and documentation for recurring issues.
• Develop scripts for

  automation

  , monitoring, and support tools using

  Shell

  ,

  Python

  , or similar.
• Work closely with

  DevOps

  ,

  Development

  , and

  QA

  teams to deploy changes and hotfixes.
• Ensure

  SLA adherence

  and work on

  continuous improvement

  of support processes.
• Participate in

  on-call rotations

  for 24x7 support as needed.

Required Skills:

• 712 years of total experience in

  Java/J2EE

  application support or development.
• Strong experience in

  Spring Boot

  ,

  Microservices

  , and

  RESTful APIs

  .
• Proficient in

  SQL

  , writing complex queries, analyzing DB issues (MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
• Good understanding of

  application servers

  , logs, and monitoring tools.
• Experience in

  Unix/Linux

  environments with scripting knowledge (Shell, Bash).
• Strong

  problem-solving

  and

  troubleshooting

  skills.
• Ability to read and understand Java code to support and debug production issues.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with

  cloud platforms

  (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Knowledge of

  CI/CD tools

  (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Maven).
• Exposure to

  incident and change management processes

  (ITIL framework).
• Familiarity with

  message brokers

  like Kafka, RabbitMQ is a plus.
• Understanding of

  container technologies

  (Docker, Kubernetes) is desirable.

Education:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
