Job Description

As a Java Developer in the Institutional Securities Technology team at Morgan Stanley, you will be responsible for designing and developing a real-time platform that involves fast calculations, efficient memory management, and a highly scalable architecture. This role offers you the opportunity to work on various projects ranging from short-term tactical enhancements to strategic initiatives impacting multiple firm systems and business groups. You will be involved in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, designing, developing, testing, and supporting applications in production. Additionally, you will provide ongoing technology support for business users and queries. Key Responsibilities: - Design and develop using the latest technology architectures and API models - Develop multi-threaded applications using Core Java and Spring - Utilize problem-solving skills and effective communication - Apply knowledge of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and RDBMS - Work with Unix operating systems - Experience with scripting languages like Python is a plus - Understanding of the financial domain - Familiarity with Agile methodology - Awareness of cloud-based technologies Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Software, or a related field - 5-7 years of Java development experience, particularly with Spring framework - Strong understanding of OO, data structures, algorithms, RDBMS, Basic SQL, and Data Analysis - Proficiency in multi-threaded application development using Core Java and Spring - Good communication skills - Working knowledge of Unix operating system - Knowledge of scripting languages like Python is advantageous As part of Morgan Stanley, you can expect a commitment to maintaining first-class service and excellence.
