Security Reference Data (SRD) provides a single, consistent, authoritative source of externally verifiable securities reference data across Fixed Income and Equity divisions used throughout Morgan Stanley. This includes the trading desk, regulatory reporting, and settlement teams, making it a critical component from a business operations perspective. Ensuring the accuracy of this data is paramount, as even the smallest errors can pose significant financial and reputational risks.

The role provides a unique chance to work on large-scale, highly optimized, and mission-critical systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in server-side Java development, excellent communication skills, and the drive to thrive in a fast-paced environment where time to market is crucial. They will collaborate with our global partners in the securities reference data divisions and partner technology teams to understand requirements and manage all aspects of the SDLC. Solutions will demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, innovative thinking, and an understanding of change-based risk.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain server-side Java applications.
• Collaborate with global partners and technology teams.
• Own all aspects of the SDLC, from requirements gathering to deployment.
• Ensure solutions are optimized, scalable, and maintainable.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and innovative thinking.

Skills Required

• Proficiency in Core Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and Spring Data.
• Experience with Microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with UNIX/Linux environments.
• Experience with relational databases such as Sybase and DB2.
• Experience with non-relational databases, e.g., MongoDB.
• Strong debugging skills.
• Good to have experience with analytics tools like Power BI.
