Java Backend Software Engineer - API Developer

Role Overview: As a Digital Software Engineer Intermediate Analyst at our company, you will play a crucial role in implementing new or updated application systems and programs in collaboration with the Technology team. You will work alongside other developers as part of an agile team, contributing your expertise in full-stack coding and adhering to best practice principles in software development. Key Responsibilities: - Translate application designs into well-structured, secure, testable, and maintainable code. - Independently develop small-scale features and functions, as well as contribute to larger program efforts. - Perform application systems analysis and programming, including feasibility studies, cost/time estimates, and implementation. - Write unit tests and integrate code into the CI/CD pipeline using tools like Jenkins and Git. - Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with minimal guidance. - Participate in solution discussions, system design reviews, and documentation creation. - Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Collaborate effectively with team members, manager, and peers to enhance code quality and accelerate delivery. - Adhere to Citi's risk and compliance policies and regulations. Qualifications: - Minimum 4-7 years of experience in an Apps Development role with demonstrated execution capabilities. - Hands-on experience in backend technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, and Microservice Architecture. - Experience in containerization technologies like OpenShift, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, etc. - Familiarity with DevOps concepts, tools, and continuous delivery pipelines including Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Tekton, Harness, Jira, etc. - Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a data-driven and results-oriented approach. - Demonstrated clear and concise written and verbal communication skills. - Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. - Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines, and adapt to unexpected changes in expectations or requirements. - Good to Have: Knowledge/Proficiency in leveraging Generative AI/LLM technologies for application development.
