Java backend developer

NTT DATA is looking for a Java backend developer to join their team in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. In this role, you will be responsible for the development, testing, and maintenance of software applications and systems. You will also lead the planning and design of product and technical initiatives, mentor team members, and drive improvements in engineering techniques. Collaboration with team members to ensure high-quality deliverables, adherence to performance standards, and engagement with key stakeholders to understand user requirements are key aspects of this role. Key responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining Java-based backend systems with a focus on performance and scalability, building real-time messaging and data ingestion pipelines, creating responsive front-end interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks, managing relational databases, and supporting continuous integration and testing processes. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience in developing JAVA and microservices applications, excellent communication skills, and a background in the banking domain. Preference will be given to candidates with onsite experience and industry certifications. The required schedule availability for this position is Monday-Friday (12:00 PM to 10:00 PM IST) with the mandate of twice a week WFO.
