Java API Management & Microservices

As a Java Microservices Developer at our company, you will be part of a team that builds high-throughput, low-latency API ecosystems and event-driven microservices for Banking, Retail, and Telecom digital platforms. Your role will involve designing, developing, and deploying Java 11+ microservices using Spring Boot and RESTful APIs. You will also create and manage API products through gateways like Apigee or Kong, ensuring security, throttling, and analytics. Additionally, you will implement containerized workloads with Docker and orchestrate releases on Kubernetes or OpenShift. Optimizing service performance through profiling, caching, and asynchronous messaging with Kafka or RabbitMQ will be crucial. Automating CI/CD pipelines and IaC scripts for zero-downtime blue-green deployments is also part of your responsibilities. Collaboration with product owners and DevOps to maintain coding standards, test coverage, and observability is essential. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and deploy Java 11+ microservices using Spring Boot and RESTful APIs - Create and manage API products through Apigee or Kong gateways ensuring security, throttling, and analytics - Implement containerized workloads with Docker and orchestrate releases on Kubernetes or OpenShift - Optimize service performance via profiling, caching, and asynchronous messaging with Kafka or RabbitMQ - Automate CI/CD pipelines and IaC scripts to achieve zero-downtime blue-green deployments - Collaborate with product owners and DevOps to uphold coding standards, test coverage, and observability Qualifications Required: - 4-8 years hands-on Java backend development in production - Solid experience with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and JPA - Proven API design and management expertise on Apigee, Kong, or AWS API Gateway - Containers competence: Docker build, image hardening, registry management - Working knowledge of Kubernetes, Helm, or OpenShift deployments - Proficient in Git, unit testing, and relational or NoSQL databases In addition to the technical skills and qualifications required, preferred qualifications include exposure to micro-frontend or full-stack JavaScript frameworks, hands-on experience with Kafka streams, gRPC, or GraphQL, familiarity with financial-grade security patterns like OAuth2, OpenID Connect, mTLS, knowledge of Terraform or CloudFormation for IaC, background in domain-driven design and event sourcing, and contributions to open-source or tech blogging.
