Job Description

Youll break new ground by:

The SAP Basis Architect is responsible for the overall architecture, design, implementation, and integrity of SAP landscapes across the enterprise. This role provides expert technical guidance for SAP Basis and system administration activities, ensuring high availability, scalability, performance, and security of SAP systems (e.g., S/4HANA, SAP Cloud Platform, etc.). The SAP Basis Architect collaborates with infrastructure, security, application, and business teams to align SAP architecture with enterprise IT strategy and roadmaps.
Define and manage the architecture and design of SAP system landscapes, including S/4HANA, ECC, BW, Solution Manager, PI/PO, Fiori, and other SAP and non-SAP components.
Interacts with SAP Basis operations: installation, configuration, upgrade, patching, monitoring, and tuning of SAP systems.
Develop technical roadmaps for SAP environments in collaboration with enterprise architects. Provide expert-level support and troubleshooting for complex SAP technical issues.
Oversee system copies, client strategies, transport management, backup/recovery, and high availability setup.
Collaborate with security teams to enforce SAP security standards and compliance (e.g., Siemens Security teams, GDPR, SOX).
Evaluate and integrate new SAP technologies (SAP BTP, SAP RISE, cloud-native solutions).
Drive automation and DevOps practices within SAP Basis, including CI/CD pipelines.
Manage relationships with SAP, cloud vendors (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), and managed service providers.
Guide and mentor junior Basis administrators and project team members.
Document architecture standards, best practices, and system configurations.

Youre excited to build on your existing expertise, including

Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
5+ years of SAP Basis experience with at least 1-2 years in an architectural role.
Strong experience with SAP S/4HANA and/or SAP HANA database administration.
Deep knowledge of SAP NetWeaver stack and associated components (ABAP, Java, Fiori, Gateway, Cloud Connector, etc.).
Proficiency in system performance tuning, troubleshooting, and monitoring tools (e.g., Solution Manager, CCMS).
Experience with SAP in hybrid or full cloud environments (SAP on Azure).
Familiarity with Linux/Unix OS, databases (HANA), virtualization, and storage technologies.
Strong understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies for SAP systems. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Experience with SAP RISE, SAP BTP, and cloud migration projects.
DevOps, scripting and automation tools experience.
ITIL Foundation knowledge or experience working in ITIL-based environments.
Project management or Agile methodology exposure.
