The position at Buckzy is crucial and requires a thorough understanding of writing high-quality, sustainable software in a secure and compliant environment. As we aim for a direct-to-production pipeline, the pace of work is fast, making it essential to have expertise in building server-side components on hosted cloud platforms like Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure. This role is perfect for individuals who are self-motivated, self-directed, and have experience working with large-scale distributed systems. Responsibilities include collaborating with a diverse team of engineers and product owners to solve intricate problems, designing and implementing performant, well-tested, and easily maintainable microservices at scale, and providing mentorship and support to colleagues for personal development. Ideal candidates should possess a minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience as a JAVA backend services developer in delivering highly compliant, available, and scalable applications in a cloud environment. Previous experience in the financial industry is advantageous. Proficiency in developing Java Microservices using technologies such as spring boot, docker, Kubernetes, etc., is required. Strong programming skills in Java, JavaScript, and familiarity with other languages are expected. Candidates must have experience in building, testing, and consuming REST APIs, as well as familiarity with high-throughput messaging technologies like Kafka. Exposure to various types of databases, including relational, analytical, or columnar databases like Postgres, is a plus. Moreover, expertise in Git source control, building and maintaining Continuous Integration and Delivery pipelines, with Jenkins experience being beneficial, is preferred. Experience in Object-Oriented Development, familiarity with Blockchain development, and working in an Agile/Scrum-inspired delivery methodology are considered advantageous.
