Job Description

Overview

Looking for a proactive and detail-oriented IT Assistant to support day-to-day IT operations, user support, and application administration. The role focuses on Microsoft environments with emphasis on Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2, SQL Server, and .NET-based internal tools, alongside general IT support responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide L1/L2 technical support for end users (Windows, Office 365/Outlook, printers, network access, VPN).
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, peripherals, and standard applications.
  • Perform routine system health checks, patching, and asset/inventory management.
  • Monitor backup jobs, antivirus status, and basic network connectivity (LAN/WiFi).
  • Document incidents, resolutions, SOPs, and maintain an IT knowledge base.
  • Coordinate with vendors for hardware warranty, software licensing, and escalations.

Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 (NAV)

  • Support NAV users: login issues, Role Center, page/form navigation, posting errors, basic permissions.
  • Manage NAV user setup, profiles, permission sets, and company-specific configurations.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting for NAV client/service tier issues and coordinate with partners for customizations.
  • Run and schedule NAV reports; assist with data corrections using approved processes.
  • Support small changes in pages/reports/permissions under guidance; track change requests.

SQL Server

  • Basic database administration support: user permissions, creating/restoring backups (as per SOP), monitoring database size and job status.
  • Work with application teams to troubleshoot connectivity and performance (e.g., long-running queries).
  • Follow change control and backup/restore procedures to ensure data integrity.

.NET Applications

  • Provide first-line support for internal .NET (C#) tools and integrations with NAV/other systems.
  • Log and reproduce bugs, collect logs/event viewer traces, and coordinate with developers.
  • Perform smoke testing/UAT support for small changes and hotfixes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Diploma/Graduate in Computer Science/IT or equivalent experience.
  • 13 years in IT support/helpdesk or system support role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, basic networking (IP/DNS/DHCP/VPN).
  • Hands-on with Active Directory user/group management and basic GPO understanding.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 (user support, permissions, report running).
  • Basic SQL Server skills: SSMS, writing simple SELECT/JOINS, understanding backups/restores.
  • Familiarity with .NET applications (user support, configs, logs) and IIS basics.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
