Job Title: Iron Ore Procurement Executive

Qualifications:

• Graduate in Engineering (B.Tech/B.E/Diploma)
• MBA in Supply Chain / Materials Management preferred
• Certifications in SCM or logistics are an added advantage

Job Purpose:

To manage the end-to-end procurement process of iron ore and related raw materials for the companys steel or ferroalloy manufacturing operations, ensuring cost-effective, timely, and quality supply through strategic sourcing and vendor management.

Key Skills Required:

• Strong negotiation and analytical skills
• Deep understanding of iron ore grades and their end-use in steel production
• Knowledge of domestic and international supply markets
• Familiarity with import-export documentation (for international sourcing)
• Working knowledge of (SAP)
• Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting tools

Key Responsibilities:

1. Raw Material Sourcing & Procurement

• Identify and onboard suppliers for iron ore (lumps, fines, pellets) both domestic and imported.
• Ensure procurement of required grades and quantities within target cost and time.
• Negotiate long-term contracts, spot purchases, and bulk deals with miners, traders, and logistics partners.

2. Vendor Management

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance (quality, delivery, compliance).
• Ensure adherence to contract terms and service-level agreements.

3. Cost & Budget Management

• Track market trends and iron ore index pricing to support strategic purchasing decisions.
• Optimize procurement cost while maintaining required quality and delivery schedules.
• Work closely with the finance team for budgeting and cost approvals.

4. Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination

• Coordinate with logistics for efficient inward movement (rail, road, or port-based).
• Ensure compliance with transportation and environmental regulations.
• Address any delay, shortage, or quality issues proactively.

5. MIS & Reporting

• Maintain procurement records, order tracking, and inventory status.
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports for management on procurement performance and price trends.

6. Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and statutory guidelines.
• Maintain proper documentation for audits and ISO/IMS certifications.
