Interventional Cardiologist (Consultant)
About The Opportunity
Join a high-quality cardiac program based in Bhilwara, Rajasthan as a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist. This on-site clinical role places you at the center of a busy cath lab and multi-disciplinary cardiac service, delivering evidence-based interventional procedures and leading clinical governance, training and quality-improvement initiatives.Role & Responsibilities
- Serve as primary operator for diagnostic coronary angiography and complex percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), ensuring safe, guideline-driven care.
- Manage acute cardiac emergencies (STEMI/NSTEMI), provide on-call coverage, and coordinate rapid reperfusion strategies in the cath lab.
- Lead and supervise the cath lab team including nurses, technologists and junior doctors ensuring procedural efficiency, infection control and patient safety.
- Perform adjunctive intravascular imaging and physiology-guided interventions (IVUS, OCT, FFR) to optimize outcomes for complex lesions.
- Collaborate with cardiology, cardiac surgery and critical care teams on treatment planning, peri-procedural management and multidisciplinary case reviews.
- Contribute to clinical governance: audit outcomes, maintain procedural logs, participate in morbidity & mortality reviews, and mentor trainees and fellows.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- DM / DrNB in Cardiology
- Registration with State Medical Council / NMC
- Demonstrated track record performing high-volume diagnostic angiography and PCI, including complex coronary interventions
- ACLS certification
- Proficiency with intravascular imaging and physiology: IVUS, OCT, FFR
- Experience working in a tertiary cath lab with emergency STEMI pathways
Preferred
- Experience with rotational atherectomy and atherectomy devices
- Experience in transcatheter valve interventions (TAVR/TAVI) or structural heart procedures
- Prior role as a consultant or faculty involved in training, audits and academic activities
