International Patient Services Doctor

IPS Doctor / International Patient Services Doctor or Clinical Coordinator International Patients.

Position Overview

The doctor is responsible for reviewing international clinical queries, providing preliminary medical opinions, and coordinating multidisciplinary input from relevant specialists, ensuring timely and clear communication to patients, partners, and the IPS team. The role combines clinical judgment with strong written communication, cultural sensitivity, and understanding of international patient expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Review medical records, reports, and investigations received from international patients and perform initial clinical evaluation and triaging the queries.
• Draft concise, medically accurate email opinions and recommendations for further evaluation/tests or treatment options, in coordination with treating specialists.
• Coordinate with relevant specialist doctors (e.g., oncology, cardiology, neurosurgery) to obtain multidisciplinary opinions and consolidate them into a single coherent plan for the patient/partner.
• Prepare brief clinical summaries / face sheets in clear English for sharing with patients, internal teams, and external partners (HCF partners, Direct Patients etc.)
• Liaise closely with the International Patient Services (IPS) / IPD team for scheduling teleconsultations, in-person appointments, and pre-arrival evaluations.
• Clarify clinical queries from patients and partners via email, ensuring medicolegal safety, appropriate disclaimers, and guidance on when inperson assessment is mandatory.
• Provide clinical inputs for package creation and tentative cost estimates (tests, procedures, hospital stay) in discussion with Billing and IPS teams.
• Ensure accurate documentation of all clinical communications, opinions, and decisions in the hospital information system
• Support quality, audit, and training activities related to international patient care and Teleconsultations.
