Position: International Marketing Head Business Development, Sales and Marketing (for API) Location: Rajkot Job Overview: The International Marketing Head for Business Development, Sales, and Marketing (API) will be responsible for driving global business development strategies for API products. This role focuses on managing and expanding the sales and marketing operations in existing and new territories. The individual will be responsible for monitoring market trends, customer demands, competition, and product growth, while ensuring alignment with the companys commercial goals and objectives. The role requires a proactive and strategic leader to drive growth, build client relationships, and oversee marketing activities to expand the company's footprint in the global pharmaceutical market. Key Responsibilities: Territory Management & Growth Strategy Plan and project territory-wise growth objectives each year, ensuring clear goals for revenue generation. Identify new territories and emerging markets to enhance business expansion. Monitor and analyze market potential for existing APIs, guiding the sales team to capture new business opportunities. Market Analysis & Product Growth Forecast and predict product growth trends, anticipating shifts in demand to ensure timely actions are taken. Special focus on new product launches, ensuring their market introduction aligns with strategic growth objectives. Monitor competitors and assess their production capacities to anticipate fluctuations in market demand. Sensitize internal teams on potential market changes and emerging opportunities. Client Relationship & Key Account Management Manage relationships with key customers, conducting regular face-to-face meetings to understand their requirements and ensure satisfaction. Proactively seek opportunities for growth with existing clients by identifying upsell/cross-sell possibilities. Record and respond to new customer requests, ensuring timely follow-ups and customer engagement. Negotiate prices, close contracts, and manage execution to ensure timely delivery and payment. Sales & Marketing Execution Oversee the entire sales process, including price negotiations, agreement reviews, and ensuring the smooth execution of contracts. Regularly review territory performance, including product availability, inventory levels, and potential shortages. Ensure efficient payment processes, closely monitoring the cash cycle and working with the finance team to ensure timely collections. Strategic Marketing & Business Development Develop and execute strategic marketing plans to promote API products across international markets. Analyze market trends, competitors, and customer feedback to identify key areas of growth and improvement. Proactively drive business development initiatives to penetrate new markets and expand the companys customer base. Regularly monitor and evaluate client needs, including quality, price, and regulatory requirements. Regulatory Knowledge & Compliance Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global regulatory requirements and industry standards, ensuring compliance in all markets. Ensure all marketing materials, product information, and communications meet the necessary regulatory standards for international markets. Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration Lead and mentor the business development, sales, and marketing teams, ensuring their alignment with company objectives. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Regulatory Affairs, and Operations, to ensure successful product launches and customer satisfaction. Review and provide guidance on market research, customer feedback, and sales forecasts to drive strategic decision-making. Performance Monitoring & Reporting Regularly review performance data and provide reports on a monthly, quarterly, and half-yearly basis. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions where necessary to meet objectives. Conduct periodic market research to assess trends, competition, and customer needs, ensuring alignment with the company's goals. Key Skills and Competencies: Strong understanding of API products , including their production, documentation, and export processes. Proven track record in business development, sales, and marketing within the pharmaceutical API industry. Experience in managing key accounts , with a demonstrated ability to grow accounts and build long-term relationships. Excellent market research skills, including the ability to collect data from various sources and create comprehensive reports. Expertise in strategic marketing management , with a focus on ROI-driven marketing activities. Strong negotiation skills , with the ability to close sales deals, manage contracts, and ensure on-time payments. Proficiency in MS Office and internet search tools . Strong communication skills , both written and verbal, with proficiency in English (other languages are a plus). Ability to work in a customer-centric manner, with a focus on addressing client needs related to quality , price , and regulatory issues . Ability to manage international marketing campaigns , including communications, customer outreach, and service line marketing. Diplomatic skills to manage international relationships and cross-functional collaboration in a multicultural environment. Qualifications: Educational Qualification: B.Sc. , M.Sc. , or BE Chemical with an MBA in Marketing or equivalent qualifications in a relevant field. Experience: Minimum 10+ years of experience in business development , sales , and marketing in the API pharmaceutical industry . Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of global regulatory requirements for pharmaceutical products and markets. Industry Experience: Extensive experience in key account management , market development , and product sales within the pharmaceutical sector, specifically with API products . Preferred Skills: Knowledge of emerging global markets and understanding of export documentation requirements for API products. Proficiency in CRM software and experience managing international sales pipelines. Experience in negotiating with distributors and agents in international territories. Ability to adapt marketing strategies to different international markets and customer needs.
