Internal Auditor

About the Role

The Internal Auditor will be responsible for conducting audits across hospital financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and process integrity. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to identify gaps and recommend improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct internal audits of hospital departments including billing, pharmacy, procurement, insurance desk, front office, and revenue cycle management.
  
• Review financial transactions, vouchers, cash handling, and reconciliation statements.
  
• Monitor adherence to hospital policies, SOPs, statutory regulations, and NABH standards.
  
• Identify system gaps, financial leakages, and areas of non-compliance.
  
• Verify patient bills, discounts, refunds, claims, and approvals.
  
• Audit vendor payments, purchase orders, GRNs, and stock management (pharmacy & stores).
  
• Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls and risk management processes.
  
• Prepare audit reports with observations, root causes, and corrective action plans.
  
• Follow up on corrective actions and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
  
• Support internal audit team in special investigations, surprise checks, and process reviews.
  
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams for data collection and compliance reviews.
  

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong analytical and numerical abilities.
  
• Excellent knowledge of finance, accounting principles, and internal controls.
  
• Good understanding of hospital revenue cycle and healthcare processes (preferred).
  
• Proficiency in MS Excel, data analysis, and reporting.
  
• Good communication and presentation skills.
  
• Ability to work independently with integrity and confidentiality.
  

Eligibility Criteria

• MBA in Finance (mandatory).
  
• Freshers with strong academic performance can apply.
  
• Experienced candidates (13 years) in internal audit, hospital finance, or healthcare auditing will be preferred.
