Job Description

As an Interim Engineering Intern - HW at Qualcomm India Private Limited, you will be part of a team that has been at the forefront of conceiving and commercializing key innovations in wireless communication systems over the past thirty years. Your role will involve actively participating and contributing to Qualcomm's systems engineering activities related to the evolution of 3G, 4G, 5G, WLAN, and satellite communications technologies towards ever-improving efficiency and capability. Your responsibilities will include gaining a thorough understanding of 3GPP/3GPP2 physical layer specifications, designing WWAN modem baseband algorithms, performance characterization, fixed-point design, and validation. Key Responsibilities: - Develop deep understanding of problems through thoughtful data-driven analysis - Contribute to Qualcomm's systems engineering activities related to the evolution of wireless communication technologies - Design WWAN modem baseband algorithms and conduct performance characterization - Gain thorough understanding of 3GPP/3GPP2 physical layer specifications - Contribute to QUALCOMM's IP portfolio and systems support for implementation - Participate in design and review sessions - Develop and validate modem algorithms for advanced receivers, decoders, tracking loops, etc. - Work on interference and mobility management in radio access networks - Collaborate on mobile broadband, IoE, Mission Critical, Vehicular Communications, etc. - Utilize programming skills in C/C++/MATLAB and familiarity with UNIX/Win/Linux computing platforms Qualifications Required: - Familiarity with PHY and MAC Layers, Information theory, Coding theory, etc. - Knowledge of 3GPP/3GPP2 standards - Experience in modem algorithms design and interference cancellation - Understanding of OFDMA and CDMA based FDD/TDD systems - Proficiency in protocols like RLC, PDCP, RRC, S1, X2, IP, UDP, TCP, HTTP - Strong programming skills in C/C++/MATLAB - Familiarity with UNIX/Win/Linux computing platforms Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities during the application/hiring process.
