Integration Engineer

Role Overview: You are being sought after for the position of Integration Engineer Level 2 at Steer Health. Your primary responsibility will be to support the building, testing, deployment, and maintenance of interfaces facilitating data exchange between EHR/EMR systems and other healthcare applications. Key Responsibilities: - Interface Development (Mirth Connect): - Assist in designing, developing, and configuring Mirth Connect channels for HL7, FHIR, REST API integrations, and custom interoperability workflows. - Implement message transformations using JavaScript, mapping HL7/V2, JSON, XML, and FHIR resources. - Monitor, troubleshoot, and debug Mirth channels, connectors, filters, and transforms. - Support deployment, versioning, and maintenance of live interfaces. - Healthcare Interoperability (HL7 / FHIR / EPIC / APIs): - Work with HL7 v2.x messages parsing, mapping, validation, and testing. - Assist with FHIR RESTful API integrations, including various operations and resource mapping. - Perform JSON/XML schema validation and ensure compliance with interoperability specifications. - Participate in HL7/FHIR data workflows for various healthcare processes. - Integration Support & Testing: - Participate in integration testing including unit tests, message validation, and end-to-end workflow testing. - Analyze error logs, identify issues, and support corrective actions. - Support integration-related tickets from internal teams, clinical staff, and vendors. - Create test cases and validate data flow across systems. - Documentation & Collaboration: - Help in creating and maintaining interface specifications, mapping rules, API documentation, and architecture diagrams. - Collaborate with senior engineers, EHR analysts, QA, DevOps, and healthcare partners. - Assist in translating requirements into technical tasks. Qualifications Required: - 5+ years of experience as an EHR Integration Engineer. - Hands-on experience with Mirth Connect, JavaScript, HL7/V2, JSON, XML, and FHIR resources. - Understanding of healthcare security and authentication standards like OAuth2 and JWT. - Knowledge of healthcare document standards such as CDA, CCD, and CCDA. - Familiarity with healthcare terminologies like LOINC, ICD, and SNOMED CT. - Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) for API or integration-related work. - Proficiency in major EHR/EMR platforms such as Epic, Cerner, Meditech, Athena, OpenMRS. - Working knowledge of scripting or programming languages (JavaScript preferred for Mirth; Python or Java is a plus). - Familiarity with relational databases and SQL for data mapping and validation. - Demonstrated ability to optimize code and maintain high-quality, reliable codebases.,
