Role Overview: Join a dynamic team at Kent in Qatar as an ICSS Functional Test Procedure Development Engineer. Your role involves designing, developing, and documenting functional test procedures for various ICSS components in the oil and gas sector. You will collaborate closely with project teams, ensuring adherence to international standards and safety regulations while maintaining system integrity. Your expertise in automation, ICSS architectures, and technical writing will be crucial for the success of the projects. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and document comprehensive functional test procedures for ICSS components such as IPCS, SIS, SIF, GDS, and more, ensuring compliance with industry standards. - Conduct thorough reviews of project specifications, control system philosophies, loop diagrams, and vendor documentation to understand system functionality and testing requirements. - Identify essential functional tests to verify control logic, safety interlocks, alarm functions, and communication integrity across the ICSS network. - Collaborate with project stakeholders to clarify design intent, address technical queries, and ensure testability of the ICSS. - Participate in HAZOP studies and SIL verification workshops to incorporate safety-critical testing requirements into functional test procedures. - Define clear acceptance criteria for each test step and prepare comprehensive test documentation throughout the testing lifecycle. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation and Control Engineering with a focus on automation. - Minimum of 10+ years of experience in functional testing and commissioning of ICSS in the oil and gas industry. - Proficiency in ICSS architectures, communication protocols, process control principles, and safety instrumented systems. - Strong technical writing skills for developing detailed and accurate functional test procedures and reports. - Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and documentation. - Experience in FAT and SAT activities is desirable, and relevant certifications like Functional Safety Engineer are advantageous.
