Job Description

Design and Development: Develop and design instrumentation systems for oil & gas projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Create detailed design documents, including instrumentation schematics, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, and P&IDs. Select appropriate instruments and control devices based on project specifications and requirements. Project Management: Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate instrumentation designs with other engineering disciplines. Participate in project planning, cost estimation, and scheduling activities. Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of instrumentation deliverables. Technical Support: Provide technical guidance and support during the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of instrumentation systems. Perform site visits to assess instrumentation requirements and ensure compliance with design specifications. Conduct technical reviews and audits of existing systems to identify areas for improvement. Compliance and Safety: Ensure all instrumentation designs adhere to safety regulations and industry standards (e.g., IEC, ISA). Implement best practices for instrumentation design to enhance system reliability and performance. Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Experience: 15-20 years of experience in instrumentation design within the oil & gas industry. Proven track record of successfully completing instrumentation design projects. Technical Skills: Proficiency in instrumentation design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SmartPlant Instrumentation). Strong knowledge of instrumentation systems, control systems, and process automation. Familiarity with international standards and codes related to instrumentation design. Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with team members and clients. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications: Professional certifications related to instrumentation engineering (e.g., Certified Automation Professional, ISA certification). Experience in offshore or onshore oil & gas projects.
