Job Description

Role & responsibilities

  1. Supervise daily injection moulding operations including machines, moulds, and raw materials.
  2. Plan, schedule, and monitor production to meet output and delivery targets.
  3. Ensure machines run efficiently with minimal downtime.
  4. Lead and guide operators, technicians, and helpers on the shop floor.
  5. Assign tasks, monitor performance, and train staff in proper moulding techniques.
  6. Enforce workplace discipline, safety, and hygiene standards.
  7. Monitor product quality against specifications.
  8. Work with the quality team to resolve defects such as warping, flashing, and sink marks.
  9. Implement corrective actions to maintain consistency.
  10. Coordinate with maintenance teams for routine checks and repairs.
  11. Ensure proper mould changes, setups, and parameter settings.
  12. Troubleshoot machine or moulding problems.
  13. Adjust process parameters including temperature, pressure, and cycle time for efficiency.
  14. Reduce scrap, material wastage, and cycle times.
  15. Implement lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
  16. Maintain production records, shift reports, and downtime logs.
  17. Coordinate with production managers, quality teams, and stores for raw material planning.
  18. Report issues related to manpower, machines, or materials.

Preferred candidate profile

  1. Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Production/Plastics Engineering (or equivalent technical qualification).
  2. 5 to 7 years of experience in injection moulding operations, with at least 23 years in a supervisory role.
  3. Strong knowledge of moulding machines, tools, raw materials, and troubleshooting techniques.
  4. Hands-on experience in process parameter setting, mould changeover, and defect analysis.
  5. Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO and lean manufacturing practices.
  6. Good leadership skills with the ability to manage, train, and motivate shop floor teams.
  7. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure.
  8. Proficiency in production reporting, record-keeping, and basic computer applications (ERP/Microsoft Office).
  9. Knowledge of workplace safety standards and ability to enforce compliance.
  10. Willingness to work in shifts and adapt to production requirements.
