Infosys_ ETL Tester_ Chennai/Bengaluru/Hyderabad/Pune/Noida

The ETL Tester will be responsible for verifying the data flow from various sources to target databases, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and completeness in alignment with business requirements. This role involves validating the ETL process, building and executing test cases, and ensuring data quality through rigorous testing procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Test Planning and Strategy: Collaborate with data engineers, data analysts, and business stakeholders to understand ETL requirements and create test strategies and plans.
• Test Case Development: Design, write, and execute detailed test cases and test scripts to validate data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
• Data Validation: Conduct source-to-target data validation to ensure data accuracy and consistency, and identify potential data quality issues.
• Regression Testing: Perform regression tests on ETL processes after changes or updates to ensure that new changes do not affect existing functionalities.
• Automation: Develop and implement test automation frameworks to streamline testing for ETL processes using tools such as SQL, Python, or other scripting languages.
• Performance Testing: Assess ETL job performance and identify areas for optimization to ensure data processing meets required timeframes.
• Defect Tracking: Document, track, and report defects and issues found during testing, working closely with development teams to resolve them.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for all testing phases, including requirements, test scripts, and defect tracking.

Requirements:

• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in SQL, data querying, and database testing; familiarity with ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, SSIS, or similar platforms.
• Scripting Knowledge: Hands-on experience with test automation tools or scripting languages like Python, Shell scripting, or other related tools.
• Data Warehousing Knowledge: Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, data integration, and ETL processes.
• Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail to identify data inconsistencies and errors.
• Tools: Familiarity with tools like JIRA, HP ALM, or any other test management tool for tracking testing progress and defect status.
• Soft Skills: Good communication skills to liaise with development and business teams, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
