Information Security Engineer

As part of Accurate Backgrounds Global Information Security team, an Information Security Engineer would be involved with the daily security operations of the organization. They will be expected to have a good understanding of Information Security related concepts and best practices. They should also have in-depth knowledge of technologies like antimalware solutions, vulnerability management solutions, IDS/IPS, SIEM, firewalls, VPNs.

Information Security Engineers must possess good analytical and problem-solving skills. They should be able to work under pressure and within tight deadlines. They should also be good team players with good interpersonal and communication skills. This role reports to the Sr Information Security Engineer.

Responsibilities:

• Plan implement, manage, and maintain security systems like antimalware solutions, vulnerability management solutions, SIEM solutions, etc.
• Monitor and investigate security alerts from various sources and provide incident response.
• Identify potential weaknesses within the organizations network and systems and recommend solutions.
• Take up security initiatives to improve the overall security posture of the organization.
• Documentation of SOPs, metrics and reports as required.
• Provide RCAs for security incidents and document them.
• Collaborate with different teams and departments to address vulnerabilities, security incidents and drive initiatives.
• Research and monitor emerging threats and vulnerabilities, understand current industry and technology trends and opportunities, and assess their impact on applications and the business.

Preferred candidate profile:

• Minimum 4 years of experience with IT Security
• Experience with vulnerability management tools (Defender, Mend, Appcheck)
• Experience with antimalware solutions. (Defender Suite - Defender for Endpoints, Defender for Cloud, Crowdstrike)
• Experience with SIEM solutions (MS Sentinel)
• Strong working knowledge of various information technologies and industry best practices
• Demonstrate ability to take initiative, ownership and accountability for achieving results
• Work with different teams to address vulnerabilities, security incidents and drive initiatives.
• Effective communication skills with technical and non-technical staff and proficiency in English
• Experience/exposure to distributed systems such as AWS and Azure

Working Conditions:

• This position is a hybrid, based in the Hyderabad, India. Requiring 2 days a week in the office.
• The Information Security Engineer may be required to work flexible hours to accommodate different time zones or urgent situations.
