Industrial Design Engineer

As an Industrial Design Engineer at our company, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing products that excel in functionality, user-friendliness, and visual appeal. Your responsibilities will include: - Developing innovative design solutions for new and existing products, ensuring they meet aesthetic and functional requirements aligned with market needs and company objectives. - Assisting in the design and development of product concepts from ideation to prototyping. - Generating sketches, renderings, and 3D models (Solidworks) to effectively communicate design ideas. Familiarity with additional design software such as KeyShot, Solidworks Visualize, and Blender will be advantageous. - Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and production, to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability. - Conducting user research, usability conditions, and incorporating user feedback into the design process. - Conducting competitive analysis to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation. - Conducting risk assessments and design reviews to identify potential design and safety issues. - Choosing suitable materials and finishes for product designs by considering factors such as cost-effectiveness, durability, and environmental sustainability. - Testing and refining design concepts through prototyping methods including 3D printing, CNC machining, and traditional hand-crafting. - Collaborating with suppliers and manufacturing partners to source and evaluate new materials and technologies. - Experience or knowledge in the medical device/robotics field, including familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance processes, will be advantageous. Key Skills required for this role include: - Proven ability to translate complex engineering concepts into clear and functional designs. - Proficiency in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks. - Strong sketching and rendering skills. - A seasoned understanding of how things work and are made. - Understanding of manufacturing processes and materials. - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. - Strong communication and presentation skills. - Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. - A keen eye for aesthetics and a passion for creating user-centered designs. - Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Knowledge of Medical devices/robotic systems and various robotic applications will be advantageous.
