Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a Microfabrication Engineer/Scientist specializing in Microfluidics development. The role involves daily tasks related to Photolithography or Direct Maskless lithography based glass- PDMS and SU-8 moulding type rapid Microfluidic prototyping. Since these skillsets are required from day 1 hence Only the experienced engineer /Scientist should apply. Applications of these devices are in Biomedical or Biotech. domains. Knowledge or working experience in immobilization within microchannel shall be added advantage. The position is based at the IIT Delhi campus in Delhi, India. Role Overview: You will be joining the Lab on a chip & Biosensors Group of Prof. Sandeep K. Jha at Centre for Biomedical Engineering, IIT Delhi as a full-time Molecular Biologist cum Biochemist. Your responsibilities will include conducting laboratory experiments, utilizing techniques in molecular biology, PCR, pathogen culture, and genome analysis. Additionally, you will be involved in enzymology tasks such as optimizing new mastermix compositions and designing primers and probes. Key Responsibilities: - Deploy assays into microfluidic devices or paper fluidic kits to develop clinical diagnostic products - Run PCR machines and culture microorganisms - Handle clinical validation in at least one project - Demonstrate skill sets required for the project within the steep learning curve of 1.5 years - Potential enrollment in the Ph.D. program at the Centre after successful completion of the project Qualifications Required: - Laboratory skills and expertise in microbiology - Experience in handling qPCR and RT-PCR with melt curve analysis - Proficiency in enzymology, biosensors, and UV-Vis based kinetic assays - Strong background in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, and molecular biology - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills - Effective communication and collaboration abilities - Detail-oriented with a passion for scientific research - Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field Additional Details: The difficulty level of the job is commensurate with India's top academic institute, and it involves a six-day work week.
