Job Description

Role Overview

The InDesign Paginator / Compositor is responsible for creating, formatting, and assembling print and digital layouts using Adobe InDesign and related publishing tools. The role involves handling page layout, typography, composition, and production workflows to ensure high-quality output for books, journals, magazines, and other publishing materials.

Key Responsibilities

Create and format page layouts using Adobe InDesign as per project guidelines and templates.
Perform typesetting, pagination, and composition tasks for print and digital publications.
Ensure accurate placement of text, images, tables, charts, and other design elements.
Apply typography standards, stylesheets, and design consistency across all pages.
Check and correct layout issues such as spacing, alignment, fonts, and formatting.
Import and clean up manuscript files (Word, XML, or other formats) for layout.
Ensure print-ready PDFs are prepared according to publishing and printer specifications.
Work closely with editors, designers, and quality teams to ensure error-free output.
Make revisions and corrections based on QC feedback or client comments.
Maintain version control and follow production schedules to meet deadlines.
Assist in template creation, style updates, and workflow improvements.
