Position: Electrical Manager Role Overview The Electrical Manager will oversee the project execution and O&M of 66kV & 132kV substations and electrical utility systems supporting a solar cell manufacturing plant. The role spans project phase responsibilities (design review, installation, testing & commissioning) as well as operations phase (O&M, reliability, and energy optimization). The position requires strong technical expertise in high-voltage substations and industrial utility integration to ensure 24x7 power availability for solar cell manufacturing lines. Key Responsibilities Project Phase Review and validate engineering drawings, SLDs, relay coordination, equipment layouts for 66kV/132kV GIS/AIS substations feeding solar manufacturing facilities. Lead procurement and vendor evaluations for transformers, switchgear, protection systems, UPS, DGs, and HT/LT distribution networks. Coordinate with EPC contractors, OEMs, and consultants during design, FAT, installation, and commissioning. Supervise erection, testing & commissioning of: 66kV/132kV GIS substations & transmission lines. Power & distribution transformers. HT/LT switchgear, relays, SCADA/DCS, UPS, DG sets. Utilities integration (HVAC, CDA, PCW, PUW, ETP, STP, electrical chillers). Ensure grid synchronization, load trials, energization, and statutory approvals from CEA, DISCOM, and Electrical Inspectorate. Drive EHS compliance and safety protocols during construction and commissioning. O&M Phase (Plant Operation & Reliability) Manage round-the-clock operation & maintenance of 66kV/132kV substations and downstream electrical networks supporting solar cell & module lines. Ensure reliable power supply to cell lines, module lines, ingot & wafer plants, and utility systems. Implement preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance strategies to maximize uptime. Troubleshoot faults and manage emergency restorations with minimal production loss. Conduct relay coordination, load flow analysis, and fault studies for continuous reliability improvement. Coordinate with process & utility teams (HVAC, CDA, PCW, PUW, ETP, STP) for integrated plant operations. Manage annual electrical budgets, spare parts inventory, vendor AMCs, and statutory inspections. Drive energy efficiency and cost optimization initiatives, including power factor correction and demand-side management. Implement SAP PM/CMMS for maintenance planning, reporting, and compliance tracking. Lead and mentor O&M engineers, supervisors, and contractors to maintain a world-class operational environment. Qualifications & Experience Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering 12–18 years of experience in project execution and O&M of 66kV/132kV substations and utilities in large industrial facilities. Expertise in GIS/AIS substations, transformers, protection systems, SCADA/DCS, and integration of plant utilities. Key Skills Strong leadership in managing project & O&M teams (50–100 manpower contractors). Thorough knowledge of IEC/IS/IEEE standards, statutory compliance, and electrical safety. Hands-on experience in testing & commissioning of HV systems and protection relays. Vendor management, contractor supervision, and cross-functional coordination. Analytical skills for fault diagnosis, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement. Proficiency in SAP PM, MS Project/Primavera, and CMMS tools.
