We are seeking an experienced Rail Estimator to support the development of cost estimates for infrastructure and rail projects, including new rail systems, upgrades, and maintenance works. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing accurate, detailed, and timely cost estimates during all project phases—ranging from feasibility through to final tender submission. Key Responsibilities: Prepare detailed cost estimates for rail projects across civils, track, signaling, OLE, and stations. Review design documents, specifications, and drawings to assess material, labor, and time requirements. Coordinate with engineering, procurement, planning, and construction teams to ensure alignment and accuracy. Conduct quantity take-offs and pricing using estimating software and industry databases. Analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes and negotiate as needed. Maintain and update estimating databases and historical cost records. Participate in tender review meetings and provide input into risk assessments and value engineering. Assist in post-tender negotiations and handover to project delivery teams. Required Qualifications and Skills: Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Minimum [10-15] years of experience in estimating, preferably within the rail or infrastructure sector. Proficiency in estimating software and MS Excel. Strong understanding of rail systems and associated construction methods and regulations. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills. Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and pricing norms in the rail industry. Job Description : Working knowledge in Railway Project / Civil Infra Project / Industrial Project is highly desirable. Good knowledge in Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) Projects. Manage a team of Engineers / Procurement Officer and other staff. Meeting with Client/ Supervision Officer and subcontractors to discuss contractual matters. All official correspondence with Client & Govt. Bodies. Weekly Review Meeting with PM Writing, evaluating, negotiating and executing various contracts including Main Contract and subcontract. Maintaining and guiding total documents process for EPC projects. Follow-up and comply all compliances as per guide lines by the client. · Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities · Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations · Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met · Supervise the work of laborers, mechanics etc. and give them guidance when needed · Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports · Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues · Handling overall Projects with Multiple Disciplines within the project - OHE, S&T, Civil & Track · Achievement of Revenue with a projected margin · Budgetary Control of the project · Contracts Management - Variations, Claims and Extensions · Developing project baselines, monitoring and controlling of projects with respect to cost, resource deployment, time overruns, and quality compliance to ensure satisfactory.
