As a Senior Electrical Panel Designer at Monk Automation Pvt. Ltd., located in Nashik, Maharashtra, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical control panels such as LT panels, PCC, MCC, APFC, VFD panels, and PLC-based systems. Your role will involve creating detailed schematic and layout drawings, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and client specifications. Additionally, you will mentor junior designers, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to timely and quality project delivery. Key Responsibilities: - Design electrical control panels using AutoCAD or EPLAN, including Single Line Diagrams (SLD), General Arrangement (GA), wiring diagrams, and terminal layouts. - Develop and review Bill of Materials (BOM), cable schedules, and panel load calculations. - Ensure that designs meet IEC/IS standards and customer specifications. - Collaborate with internal teams (sales, production, procurement, QA) and external clients for design approvals and technical clarifications. - Review and validate designs created by junior engineers/drafters. - Provide technical support during panel manufacturing and site installation when necessary. - Conduct risk assessments and recommend design improvements for enhanced performance and safety. - Assist in cost estimation and tender documentation with design input. - Maintain proper documentation and version control of all design files and project records. Required Qualifications: - B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering. - Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in electrical panel design. - Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN (preferred), and MS Office. - Strong understanding of electrical schematics, power/control circuit design, and panel layout. - Familiarity with components from major brands such as Schneider Electric, Siemens, ABB. In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as a design authority for an engineering discipline with low to medium complexity. Each day, you will complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by applying basic design thinking/design for excellence concepts in projects. The work model for the role is: This role is contributing to the Motion business for System Drives division in Nelamangala - Bangalore, India. You will be mainly accountable for: - Preparation of order-specific customer drawings and production documentation of various families of MV VFDs (up to 11kV - both VSI/LCI converters), including soft-starting applications. - Discussion with customers/consultants for approval of drawings and during inspection in the factory. - Maintain on-time generation of drawings and achieving desired quality levels (first-pass yield/defects per unit). - Coordination with factories in other locations for engineering documentation (for imported VSI/LCI converters). - Participate in special testing requirements at other factories or customer sites. - Preparation of specification and evaluation of vendors of packaging project supplies like converter transformers, induction and synchronous motors, LV and MV switchgear panels, UPS, excitation system, PLC panels, cables, harmonics filters, bus ducts, vibration monitoring system, lubrication system, chiller, finfan cooler. - Provide technical support to sales on specific topics. - Ensure safety & integrity and other code of conduct compliance within the team. Qualifications for the role: Minimum qualification: Bachelor's degree - Electrical Engineering, with 7+ years of experience with MV variable speed drive systems. Key competencies/skills required: - Familiarity and practice of all safety requirements including procedures, PPE, best practices, hazard reporting etc. - Experience with engineering and testing of variable speed drives, and associated IEC/IS standards and software tools for dimensioning & configuring MV VFD systems. - Experience of addressing drive system level topics like protection coordination, network harmonics, resonance effects, torque pulsation etc. - Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of switchgear, PLC, motors, transformers. - Familiarity with SAP and CAD tools like Eplan/ECSCAD/ACAD Electrical/Solid Edge/Creo. - Familiarity with typical MV VFD application in industries like cement, metals, power, chemicals, oil & gas, tire, and typical purchase specifications of industry consultants.
