ICU Staff Nurse

Job Summary:

The ICU Staff Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit. The nurse will monitor patient conditions, administer medications, operate life-support systems, and coordinate with doctors and healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
• Monitor vital signs, ventilator settings, and other critical parameters.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and infusions as prescribed.
• Assist doctors during medical procedures and rounds.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and observations.
• Ensure the proper functioning of ICU equipment and report malfunctions immediately.
• Maintain infection control practices and adhere to hospital safety protocols.
• Provide emotional support and information to patient families.
• Participate in emergency and resuscitation procedures (Code Blue).
• Maintain adequate stock of emergency drugs and equipment in the ICU.
• Participate in continuous nursing education and training sessions.

Qualification & Experience:

• Education: GNM / B.Sc. Nursing
• Experience: Minimum 1–3 years of experience in ICU or critical care
