Job Title: Hydra Repairing Mechanic Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Hydra Repairing Mechanic to maintain, repair, and service hydraulic cranes (Hydras) used in the steel industry. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of hydraulic lifting equipment, minimizing downtime, and supporting production activities. Key Responsibilities: Inspect, diagnose, and repair hydraulic cranes (Hydras) and related equipment used in steel handling and transportation. Conduct routine maintenance and preventive servicing of hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, cylinders, and hoses. Troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic faults and implement effective repairs in a timely manner. Dismantle and assemble hydraulic components and systems as required. Test and calibrate hydraulic machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance. Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and parts used. Collaborate with maintenance supervisors and other technical teams to coordinate repair schedules and minimize production disruption. Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations during all repair and maintenance activities. Manage inventory of spare parts and recommend procurement as necessary. Provide technical support and guidance to operators regarding safe usage and basic maintenance of hydraulic cranes. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Hydra mechanic or hydraulic mechanic, preferably in the steel or heavy industry. Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, components, and machinery operation. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, hydraulic schematics, and mechanical drawings. Skilled in mechanical repairs, welding, and use of hand and power tools. Familiarity with safety procedures related to heavy equipment and hydraulics. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Physical ability to work in demanding industrial environments. Relevant technical certification or diploma in mechanical or hydraulic engineering is preferred.

You will be working as an Engineer Workshop - Mechanical under the supervision of the Senior Engineer Workshop Mechanical in the Asset Operations department located in Jamnagar. Your primary responsibility will be to carry out workshop services such as machining, valve/PSV repairing & calibration, onsite support service for machining, coordinating machining activities with external vendors, and conducting mechanical equipment overhauling activities. Your role is crucial in ensuring smooth operations while complying with statutory regulations and company policies. Your key performance indicators will include achieving zero HSEF incidents in the Workshop and CES workshop areas, completing machining and overhauling/repair work on time as per plant requirements, and ensuring the availability of heavy equipment as per the plan. You will collaborate internally with departments such as Human Resources, Administration, Workshop, Planning, and Security, while externally interacting with vendors, equipment manufacturers, and contractors. To excel in this role, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology with a specialization in Mechanical. Ideally, you should have 1-3 years of experience in industrial/Mechanical workshop maintenance, with around 2 years of on-the-job experience. To successfully execute your responsibilities, you must possess competencies in mechanical maintenance management, inspection management, machining/production technology, knowledge of various codes/standards, AutoCAD, metrology, workshop maintenance methodology, and Health and Safety standards. Familiarity with material handling equipment such as cranes, hydra, forklifts, EOT, and welding technologies will be advantageous. In terms of career progression, after this role, you can move on to becoming a Senior Engineer Workshop - Mechanical.
