HVAC Supervisor

Position Summary:
The HVAC Supervisor leads a team of mechanical engineers and designers focused on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems design. This role is critical for ensuring designs meet client requirements for comfort, efficiency, and sustainability. The supervisor is the technical authority for HVAC systems within their team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of mechanical/HVAC engineers and designers.
• Oversee the production of HVAC design documents: ductwork and piping layouts, equipment schedules, and specifications.
• Review and approve HVAC load calculations (using software like HAP or Trace), energy models, and system selections.
• Ensure designs comply with ASHRAE standards, International Mechanical Codes (IMC), and energy codes (IECC).
• Coordinate HVAC system requirements with electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and architectural teams.
• Lead the integration of sustainable design principles (e.g., LEED) into projects.
• Review and respond to RFIs and submittals during the construction phase.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in HVAC system design for buildings.
• Proven leadership or supervisory experience.
• Expertise in HVAC design software (e.g., Carrier HAP, Trane Trace, Revit MEP).
• Strong knowledge of ASHRAE standards and building codes.
