Conducts energy modeling and analysis to optimize HVAC system performance and efficiency. Prepares detailed technical specifications and equipment schedules for HVAC systems. Participates in client meetings and presentations to discuss HVAC design concepts, challenges, and solutions. Mentors junior designers and drafters, providing guidance on HVAC design principles and BIM best practices. Ensures quality control of HVAC designs and BIM models through regular reviews and audits. Stays current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulations related to HVAC design and BIM implementation. Contributes to the development and maintenance of company HVAC design standards and BIM templates. Qualifications Bachelor of Engineering degree (or equivalent education) in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field from an accredited college or university. Minimum of 6+ years of experience in HVAC design and BIM implementation. Advanced proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks. Experience with other software like Revizto and MicroStation is a plus. Thorough understanding of HVAC systems, building codes, and industry standards. Proven ability to manage complex BIM projects from concept to completion. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams. Ability to mentor and train junior staff on BIM best practices. Familiarity with sustainable design principles and energy modeling software. Professional certification such as PE, LEED AP, or ASHRAE certification is preferred. Role & responsibilities: Prepare detailed HVAC drawings and shop drawings for residential buildings using AutoCAD / Revit / other relevant drafting tools. Develop ducting layouts, piping drawings, and HVAC equipment placement in coordination with architectural and structural layouts. Generate detailed sections, schematic diagrams, and isometric drawings for HVAC systems. Assist in preparing as-built drawings post-installation. Ensure drawing documentation is accurate and updated as per site conditions and engineer inputs. Coordinate with plumbing and electrical draftsmen to avoid service clashes. Review design changes and update drawings accordingly. Maintain drawing logs and documentation for revisions and approvals. Assist the HVAC team in quantity take-offs and material estimation based on drawings. Preferred candidate profile ITI Draftsmanship (Mechanical) Minimum 5 years of experience as HVAC Draftsman in residential or building services projects. Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit/BIM will be an added advantage. Strong understanding of HVAC systems and residential project layouts. Ability to read and interpret HVAC design, MEP coordination, and architectural drawings.
