Job Description

Position: Housekeeping Supervisor (Male/Female)

Department: Housekeeping

Reporting To: Housekeeping Executive

Job Purpose:

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the housekeeping team to ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and upkeep of all designated areas (rooms, public areas, washrooms, corridors, offices, etc.). The role involves maintaining quality standards, training staff, and ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervision & Operations

  • Supervise housekeeping staff in day-to-day cleaning and maintenance activities.
  • Assign tasks, schedule shifts, and monitor performance of housekeeping associates.
  • Inspect rooms, washrooms, and public areas to ensure high standards of cleanliness and order.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, linen, and equipment.

Staff Management & Training

  • Provide orientation, training, and guidance to housekeeping staff.
  • Monitor staff grooming, discipline, and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Motivate and lead the team to achieve departmental goals.

Quality & Standards

  • Ensure all areas are cleaned, sanitized, and maintained as per company/industry standards.
  • Conduct regular quality checks and rectify issues immediately.
  • Address and resolve guest or client complaints regarding housekeeping services.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
  • Maintain proper usage and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Report maintenance requirements to the engineering/maintenance team.

Administration & Reporting

  • Prepare duty rosters, attendance records, and performance reports.
  • Keep track of housekeeping expenses and submit requisitions for supplies.
  • Support management in audits, inspections, and special events.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum qualification: 12th pass / Diploma or Degree in Hotel Management (preferred).
  • 24 years of experience in housekeeping operations; 23 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemicals, equipment, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to manage staff efficiently and work under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Work Environment:

  • Position requires long hours of standing and walking.
  • Involves supervising both indoor and outdoor housekeeping tasks.
  • Salary Range

      Rs. 21500 Rs. 23500 CTC per Month.
